A Note From Joan…

I have to echo Steve Gorman’s words and say “Trigger Hippy withdrawal is no joke”.  I’m doing a string of duo gigs now with Keith Cotton, which are lovely and wonderful and full of musical subtleties…but I do miss the sweaty stone rock power of TH.  And my TH-mates, and the sticky heat of the mid-south (does wonders for a girl’s complexion).

We are so thankful to everyone who came to the gigs last week, it was great to have you there for the birth of TH.  We have lots more songs in the works, and we’re talking with the powers that be about when we can get back out and play some more. Keep your ears open and your eyes peeled for announcements.  Any suggestions for songs we should cover?

Joan

Thanks for asking.. I would love to hear your originals with Jackie but for covers and see you at every festival and have a week long residency at Brooklyn Bowl with special guests every night!

But since you asked :-) .. Comin’ home, Poor Elijah, Anyday (Joan i would kill to hear you sing that), come together, get it while you can, First time I met the blues (joan you would just light this up) So now that I was real greedy do what every you guys want you sound amazing. It’s such a bummer that there is no recorded stuff available you would make it into full rotation…

    a few Dead tunes:

    black peter
    pride of cucamonga
    ramble on rose
black muddy river (joan, you can do this justice)

    a couple from leon:
    Song for You

    and a little Merle Haggard:
(covering) Folsom Prison Blues (Mister J. Cash)
    Mama Tried

Anything by Barbara Higbie..check her out..she is the real deal…really…

And what about Miss Bonnie Raitt:
    Something to Talk About
Love me like a man (gotta have the slide workin’)

And how about a southern version of Jumpin’ Jack Flash (watch Johnny Winter’s version…you could pull this off big time)…

    and for now…

try let it bleed…you could do this justice…in abig way..and your band could enjoy running this one down…

and street fighting man… for fun..
